First Day

Wow! What a busy and exciting first day. The students learned about our classroom rituals and routines, got to explore in math, create stories in writer's workshop, participate in literacy stations, enjoy a good book, and find time to eat lunch and play outside.

I hope each one of the students came home excited about the day. I'm sure they were bubbling with stories and will probably sleep really well tonight! Please remember to have your child wear his or her transportation necklace for the next two weeks - both to and from school. And don't forget to check and sign the agenda daily.    :-)

Orientation

Thank you to all the families who came out to orientation last night. I know it was busy and there was hardly anywhere to park! Still, I had a chance to meet almost all of my kindergarten students and their families. I can already tell we are going to have a great year with wonderful children who have a great support system at home.
Monday is just around the corner and I look forward to kicking off a great year with all of you! If you didn't bring your supplies last night, don't forget to send them in with your child on Monday. See you then!

It's hard to believe that summer has already come and gone. I hope each one of you had a wonderful time and are ready to score big in the 2011-2012 school year. I look forward to meeting you at Orientation on Thursday, August 18 as we get ready to Shoot for Success!
